On this short 2-day hike along the Inca Trail, we will walk through diverse landscapes for approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) on the first day. This hike will take us to Machu Picchu.

From Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu
We will start early in Aguas Calientes. Here, we will board a bus for a winding journey up the mountain. This scenic route offers stunning views and prepares us for the wonders that await us. Arriving at Machu Picchu, the world-renowned archaeological site, we will find ourselves in the midst of history and mystery.
Exploring Machu Picchu
Our exploration of Machu Picchu begins with a two-hour guided tour, led by our expert tour guide. We will walk among the ruins, learning about the history, architecture and theories surrounding this mystical place.
The guided tour ensures that we understand the importance of each stone and path in this ancient city. The highest altitude we will reach here is 2,430 meters (7,970 feet). It will offer us impressive views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Optional excursions: Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain
For those looking for an additional adventure, there is the option of hiking Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. These hikes offer a unique perspective of the Inca ruins and surrounding landscapes.

The hikes add a challenging but rewarding element to our adventure. Huayna Picchu, for example, reaches an altitude of approximately 2,720 meters (8,923 feet).
Return to Cusco
After immersing ourselves in the wonders of Machu Picchu, we will return to Aguas Calientes by bus. From there, we will begin our journey back to Cusco. Along the way, we will reflect on the incredible experiences and memories we have collected. The second day of the hike is less physically demanding but rich in cultural and historical exploration.
