El Trek de Ausangate a Machu Picchu es una ruta de senderismo desafiante que te lleva desde la región de Ausangate en las montañas de los Andes hasta la famosa ciudadela inca de Machu Picchu.

Esta travesía combina el Trek de Ausangate, la caminata a la Montaña de Siete Colores y Machu Picchu en tren. Te conduce a través de pasos montañosos remotos, paisajes impresionantes de gran altitud, lagos glaciares y picos nevados. Itinerary

DAY 1:

Cusco – Tinki – Upis - Aguas termales

Te recogeremos de tu hotel en Cusco a las 4:30 a.m. y conduciremos durante 3 horas hacia la comunidad de Tinki, llegando alrededor de las 8:00 a.m. Después de disfrutar de un delicioso desayuno, comenzaremos tu caminata hacia Ausangate con una subida de 4 horas hasta nuestro lugar de almuerzo en la base de la Montaña Ausangate, el pico más alto de la región de Cusco con 6,384 metros de altura.

Después del almuerzo, continuaremos dos horas adicionales en descenso hasta la comunidad de UPIS, ubicada a 4,410 metros de altura. Esta noche acamparemos cerca de las aguas termales medicinales. Tómate un tiempo para relajarte y disfrutar de las cálidas aguas en el clima frío de las montañas por la tarde.

Te despertaremos con una caliente taza de té de coca o café en tu tienda y te proporcionaremos un delicioso desayuno. La caminata comienza con una subida suave hasta llegar al Lago Pucacocha, donde disfrutaremos del almuerzo en las orillas del hermoso lago. A lo largo del camino, disfrutarás de las impresionantes vistas de las montañas, manadas de llamas, alpacas, vicuñas y los agricultores locales.

Después del almuerzo, caminaremos durante 2 horas hasta el Paso de Alpaca a 4,989 m (16,567 pies). Tras disfrutar de las asombrosas vistas del trekking en la Montaña Ausangate, descenderás durante 1 hora más hasta el campamento en Ananta, ¡donde estarás rodeado de montañas! Este campamento es encantador, con impresionantes vistas del lago y puestas de sol asombrosas. ¡Si tienes la suerte de acampar en una noche despejada, este es el lugar perfecto para observar las estrellas!

Después de un desayuno temprano, la caminata comienza con una ascensión de 3 horas hacia la montaña Vinicunca (5,020 m / 16,466 pies). En el camino, observaremos llamas y alpacas, casas tradicionales y los impresionantes paisajes de la Montaña Ausangate (6,398 m / 20,991 pies). La Montaña de Colores (o Vinicunca) se encuentra en la Región Sur de Cusco. Este espectacular lugar impresionará incluso a los excursionistas más exigentes. La Montaña de Colores es considerada una de las caminatas de un día más hermosas del mundo. Descenderemos nuevamente al llegar a la cima, explorando y disfrutando de este lugar extraordinario. Después del almuerzo, abordaremos la furgoneta en un viaje de 4 horas hacia Ollantaytambo, donde tomaremos el tren de las 7 p.m. hacia Aguas Calientes, donde pasaremos la noche en un hotel.

On the last day, we will wake up early and get ready to enjoy Machu Picchu to the fullest. We will head straight to the queue and wait for the first buses to Machu Picchu at 5:30 a.m. As the sky lights up, we will take in the breathtaking views of the city on our way.

On a clear day, you will witness the spectacular sunrise over Machu Picchu; a truly unforgettable sight. Your guide will take you on a full 2 to 3 hour tour of the city, or you will have the option to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (tickets must be booked in advance if possible).

After the tour, your guide will explain how to take the bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and then return to Cusco by train and bus. The COSMO EXPEDITIONS team will be waiting for you on the train and will take you safely back to your hotel.

What to Bring

When preparing for the Ausangate Trek, it is important to pack adequately for the high altitude, cold weather and rugged terrain. Here are some essential items to bring:

Essentials:

  • Mountaineering boots: Make sure you have a sturdy pair of hiking boots that provide good ankle support and are comfortable to wear for long periods.
  • Warm clothing: Pack layers of warm clothing, including thermal underwear, fleece or down jackets, a warm hat, gloves and a scarf or collar.
  • Sleeping bag: You will need a warm sleeping bag that is rated for low temperatures. Most tour operators provide sleeping bags, but it’s always a good idea to bring your own if you have one.
  • Waterproof jacket and pants: Wear a waterproof jacket and pants for rain and snow.
  • Backpack: You will need a backpack to carry your gear, snacks and water. Choose a backpack that is comfortable to carry and has a capacity of at least 30-40 liters.
  • Trekking poles: Trekking poles can be useful for balance and stability on steep and rocky terrain.
  • Headlamp or flashlight: Carry a headlamp or flashlight for evenings and early mornings when it is dark.
  • Water bottle: Staying hydrated is important at high altitudes, so carry a water bottle or hydration system.
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses: Protect yourself from the strong Andean sun with sunscreen and sunglasses.
