Enjoy three days packed with activities, history and culture with our exclusive 3-day tour package, which encompasses visits to the city of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. This itinerary is perfect for capturing all the cultural essentials in one short trip.
On the City Tour, you will explore seven of Cusco’s most important historical sites. We will start from the majestic Cathedral of Cusco, continue with the Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, and finally visit the four archaeological sites near Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Pukapukara and Tambomachay.
On the second day, you will enjoy a tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, including visits to Pisac (both the market and the ruins) and Ollantaytambo. At the end of the day, you may choose to return to your hotel in Cusco or stay in Ollantaytambo to take the train to Machu Picchu, as previously discussed with your travel agent.
The third and final day will be the highlight of your trip to Peru: Machu Picchu! You will have the option of leaving Cusco to visit Machu Picchu or spending the night in Aguas Calientes the night before your visit. With the flexibility to discuss the best itinerary with your agent, we will make your dreams of exploring this historic wonder come true!
We will meet you in the lobby of your hotel at 1:00 pm to begin this exciting tour. From here we will head to Cusco’s Main Square, where you will have the opportunity to visit the famous Cathedral. After exploring this iconic place of worship, we will walk down an ancient street built by the Incas that leads to the Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun.
At Qoricancha, you will appreciate the fascinating contrast between Inca culture and Catholicism, as well as the different construction techniques employed. The imposing Inca buildings here present an astonishing magnificence, as this was the main temple of the Incas, from where all their ways radiated. The bronze main altar of the Catholic church is one of the most outstanding features of this place.
After our visit to Qoricancha, we will head towards Avenida El Sol, where we will board our bus to leave the city. The 25-minute ride will take us to the majestic Inca site of Sacsayhuaman, where your guide will lead you through the surrounding area. You will have additional time to explore this impressive site on your own.
From Sacsayhuaman, we will travel by bus to Qenqo, where you can admire ancient altars from the Inca period. Then we will continue to Puca Pucara, a small circular Inca site. Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, known as the water temple, where you will be impressed by its majestic water fountains.
Afterwards, we will head back to Cusco, and the tour will end at the Plaza de Armas. For private tours, the end of the tour will be at your own hotel.
You will spend the night in Cusco, where you can rest and reflect on the day’s fascinating experiences.
We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco around 8:00 am to begin our journey to the Inca Ruins in Pisac. These impressive ruins are located on top of one of the mountains in the Sacred Valley.
At this site, you can observe hundreds of agricultural terraces that are still in use today, where the Incas cultivated corn, potatoes and quinoa. We will also explore the religious and astronomical aspect of the Incas in these ruins. This is an extraordinary place to take pictures, as you will be at the top of the Sacred Valley, with virtually endless views.
After the visit to the ruins, we will head to the Pisac market in the city. This is the most traditional market around Cusco and another excellent place to buy gifts. You will also have the opportunity to sample some local delicacies, as many of the local farmers bring their produce here to sell. In addition, we will enjoy lunch at the market.
After lunch, we will continue our journey through the Sacred Valley until we reach Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo used to be an Inca checkpoint to protect Machu Picchu and the valley from possible enemies (Ollantay is the name of the leader and Tambo means lodging place).
After the visit to Ollantaytambo, you will have additional time to stroll around the site. In the evening, before heading to the train station, you will have the opportunity to have dinner at one of the local restaurants. Your train will depart at 7:00 pm for Aguas Calientes, a journey that will take approximately 2 hours.
You will spend the night in Aguas Calientes, where you can rest and prepare for the exciting visit to Machu Picchu the following day.
Today is an extremely important day, as we will head out to visit Machu Picchu. Given the special nature of this experience, we recommend getting up early in the morning to enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then walking to the bus station to catch one of the first buses, which start running at 5:30 am (seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis). The bus ride to Machu Picchu will take approximately 25 minutes.
Once there, your guide will be waiting for you to take you to a spectacular view of the Lost City of the Incas. Then, you will enjoy a 2-hour guided tour around Machu Picchu. If you have purchased tickets to climb the impressive Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, your guide will tell you where to begin this hike. We recommend you arrange this with us at least one month in advance, as tickets sell out quickly and have an additional cost.
Once you have finished exploring Machu Picchu, you will take a bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have lunch. Then, in the afternoon, you will board a train back to Ollantaytambo, from where our transportation will take you back to Cusco.
You will spend the night in Cusco, where you can rest and reflect on this unforgettable experience. Don’t miss the opportunity to book here today and be sure to experience this unique adventure.
